If you’ve recorded something and it’s noisey, the best course of action is to record it again. That’s not always possible so that’s where noise reduction comes in.
There are many different ways to reduce noise from a signal, I have taken to using Izotope‘s RX suite of plugins among other things recently. It’s certainly saved a lot of projects!
