I recently finished a couple more tracks for my alter ego Melo. The release ARCD/TKYO can be found on my bandcamp page and embedded below. I based these tracks around two different samples. The one recorded in an arcade features sounds of a game of air hockey. This was recorded in Auckland, NZ. The other features sound from a Japanese train station, announcing a train on it’s way to Tokyo. I felt these two tracks worked well together and I didn’t want to ruin them by releasing with another set of tracks that didn’t fit the same mood.
I have never visited Japan but I hope to this year. I think if I get some more audio recordings, I can get some more inspiration to continue working like this.
